I personally find the "theft" argument to be quite silly considering how common it is for artists to basically do a very analogous thing to what AI do there themselves. Learn their art by imitating others, gather inspiration by observing the works of others, imitating other artists' styles etc. So that particular angle seems to me to mostly boil down to "its only bad because its an AI doing it". Plenty of other good reasons to dislike it though, and I think commercial use of AI generated images, voices etc should be illegal for how devastating it'll be to artist livelihoods. But I was also kicked from a streamer community as a long-standing and paying member because I refused to stop using an ai-generated pfp (that I had generated to give a face to a roleplay OC of mine), that pretty well poisoned me against all the "anti-AI extremists" I also see kicking around who act like even fully personal use of AI is some sort of moral travesty.
