As a software engineer, the student is full of shit. AI is going to take or get rid a lot of jobs. In my profession, junior engineers are not needed anymore. Software architects and staff level engineers are fine as they have to make design choices between availability and consistency. However, AI can just write the code now and we don't really need someone who doesn't have very high level knowledge of large scale system. Middle management 100 percent, you don't need much of them. Chalie is right the education system and college degrees are too outdated to be employable.
