I think AI art will never replace true art specifically for its lack of context - as you've said, this algorithm didn't go through a life of its own and as such doesn't have its own "touch". However, I think it will definitely displace a lot of jobs in the animation and game dev industries. 2D animation especially doesn't run on soul and passion but on overworked, outsourced chinese/korean inbetweeners. There is little to no creative input on their side, since they have to match the style and flow of the keyframes. This is where AI excels at.
