It's programming, that's it. It has been designed to seem as if it is a real person in order to be better at dealing with people. The entire basis of his argument is that HE believes the AI is sentient even though it is clearly not. You can't start letting the public be responsible for creating policy's for software development. The general public has no idea how machine learning works or is created. They have no idea about how computers work at all. They simply aren't qualified to make those decisions. And here this guy is calming that the AI is sentient with no evidence and then trying to influence policy in regards to the development of NON sentient AI. Probably goes home and fucks his vacuum just so that it isn't lonely and feels loved.
