When the camera came out, they said nobody will do painting anymore. 80% of people do not know how to take good pictures or even run a business on taking pictures. This is what developers will become, "professional picture takers". People which dont know how to apply excel filters will never replace developers.
Yeah that context limit and you can only start on greenfield or isolated problems.
But AI became really helpfull. With AI you have more time for good conceptional code. Its kind of a code review, before it is coded. And not like a developer spent weeks on a feature and in the code review, you come to the point in the team to rework 50% of the code...
