The only point of "AI" is to *resemble* intelligence, and this is why it's dangerous. As long as it can convince the average person to trust its output, the company that controls it stands to gain enormous power over what humanity one day sees and thinks. The cyberpunk villains are here, and we're mostly greeting them with open arms and untold riches.
