I just read someone else’s comment but maybe ai seems so bad because we live in a capitalist society maybe ai will make things like communism or socialism as it is written on paper actually plausible or perhaps maybe people may still need jobs but instead of working 40 hour weeks it just goes down to 20 in the worst case scenario tho I just see another French revolution situation happening where the people rally around a charismatic person and radicalize against the use of highly capable thinking machines and those who create them like a new ideology or a new type of prejudice when people have time on their hands and get angry war can occur very easily look at the summer of 2020 covid quarantine kept everyone at home but BLM got everyone in the streets rioting but it all ended when people were able to go back to work I think if ai takes over jobs people will begin to hate ai and new ideologies will pop up it always happens the burning of the great library in Alexandria (poor people vs gate keeping librarians), poor French peasants at the end of the 18th century (poor people vs the nobility), German people after ww1 (poor people vs wealthy Jews/the world the blamed them for ww1), Russian peasants during ww1 (poor people vs nobility) and there are plenty more examples. If ai takes purpose away from the average joe the average joe will find purpose in destroying ai.
