When you work for a massively huge company, upper management don't know the employees personally anymore, you become a number. So when it is time for layoffs, they decide on the number to let go, that's all.
Let's not place the blame solely on AI. It's a combination of factors... faceless employees, current business models of trying to reduce operational costs and AI.
