Not everyone has the the motivation or ability to leverage AI to create new products to generate wealth. Unfortunately, I see that AI will widen the wealth gap because corporations will just be much more efficient with less labor, so the rich invested in will just get richer as large corporations increase their profit margins. The middle and lower class will just struggle more with fewer high paying white collar jobs. UBI will not be a sustainable solution because it will just add more inflation. People need to feel useful and have meaningful jobs not just for wealth but for our wellbeing. My hope is that AI can fuel the generation of new startups that will need to hire in field areas like Sales, customer success.. the tech support and engineering jobs will continue to be shipped overseas for cheaper cost.
