Another way of explaining the issue:
AI can make art, that most would consider comparable to a real artist, for little to no cost. Real artists will always have a place in high class art world but the basic consumer is likely going to choose the cheap stuff w/ out being aware of it's mass produced AI origins, leaving the struggling artist in the dust.
