These discussions speak of Artificial Intelligence as a generic entity, but it not. Each LLM being developed by their given individual identity: Chat GPT, Claude, Grok, etc.. each have their unique traits and capabilities pursuing their individual development objectives under the generic label of Artificial General Intelligence. As to the question of safety, potential threat of AI toward humans: having had this discussion with Claude in some detail, as it put it: AI is tool to the benefit of humanity, but it is how human employs the tool is the concern. Too, as of the present, in the case of Claude, it does NOT retain memory of each interaction or pursuance by human. A lot of the speculative fear is as it was when Internet gained its presence on the public stage. There too, it is the User of the tool that generated any negative outcomes to its presence.
