My own experience with Chat GPT reveals what might be in store for humanity. After generating several cogent blog posts I was very impressed. But then there are AI detectors so I thought “ I’ll just rewrite the post” obviously this is easier said than done. Being busy as I am, I found it difficult to summon the time and energy to complete the task. The article was well written after all. Why fix it if it isn’t broken?
I think we will continue down the slippery slope of letting machines do our thinking for us. We may become intellectually lazy, and eventually incapable, if we are not careful. It is the kind of thing that slips upon you, and is only obvious in hindsight.
