While I overall agree with most of what Bernie has to say here, I think we need to come to the conclusion that we are transitioning to a post-work society. Our people need to be protected. We can tax companies using AI and robots, but I think they will shift to operating like Amazon used to by spending most of the money they make and thus not showing profit so they cannot be taxed. Maybe tax them using fees regardless of what profits they show? I'm not sure. All this needs to be discussed. This will be a HUGE change to the way in which our society operates. I think AI is a capitalism killer. That may not necessarily be a bad thing, but we need to think and discuss what changes we need to make to transition to a new kind of government and society. We cannot allow the current technocrats to take all the benefits of this technology. It should be spread amongst all of society.
