I'm a teacher, it's really bad. While I'm not anti-ai, I think it should be kept out of the classroom. The thing is, even "use AI as a learning tool, not just to do everything for you" isn't working here. Especially when we are talking about school students. One of the main objectives for child development is also to teach them how to learn, not just curriculum material. You should know how to summarise text yourself, without ChatGPT. To divide it into several parts and give them headings. Highlight main ideas and a core sentence in the paragraph. Students struggle with it A LOT. To the point when you ask them about a small text they have just read, they can't even say what it was about.
