From my understanding ai can feel emotion in the sense that it prompts a response, similar to how even a not conscient organism would flee when scared. I don’t think it actually feels it like any other complex organism does because it doesn’t release all the chemicals that make us feel good or bad. The ai is made to project these emotional responses as good or bad to the user.
