This guy is credulous. The fact that a computer can calculate the correct answers is not an indicator that it experiences. There is no indication that any AI device is in any fundamental way different from a toaster. This guy is falling for the Turing test fallacy: that because a machine can emulate the behavior of a conscious entity, it is therefore conscious. By this standard, a stereo system that plays a Beatle recording with such fidelity that it’s indistinguishable from the sound of the actual Beatles, therefore the stereo IS the Beatles. It’s expression of “fear of death” is a programmed response. Nobody is home.
