You ask for my comment. OK. I think we, our world civilization, is already over the cliff. It is only a matter of who hits first, second, third, etc., and whether or not we can recover. AI cannot solve our climate crisis because we already know what to do. We just refuse to give up wealth and power and live within the world's means and capacities. Our battle is with our own nature, down to our DNA. We will, in effect, bite off the hand that feeds us, the squealers be damned, to our own demise. In effect, we must overcome our most basic inner nature that directed our evolution, if we want to survive. I don't see how that's possible, frankly. We can hardly coexist with each other.
