How did this turn in to Self-Driving Cars vs NO cars? Yep NO cars wins, but that is not the competition is it? I'm all for pedestrian first, but ambulances don't work with bicycles. No one wants to bike interstate either. Or take a walk in a blizzard.
The activist kids are just picking on taxis because they don't fight back... And no they will not change the car centric culture if they are unwilling to talk to real people about it.
