The I in AI is not real intelligence. That is the problem. Real intelligence acts by understanding concepts and thus can react right to even unexpected or untrained events. AI simply can't do this yet and thus fully self driving vehicles will stay a dream. It's impossible unless we get AI to have real intelligence, but than we won't need it anymore because AI will wipe us out.
