Well ... AI isn't completely 0 skill required but still ... it is a talentless craft because it is simply regurgitating actual creative minds work (with no credit to them mind you). There is a certain skill required to actually make decent or even good art pieces with AI, if people simply chuck in a prompt without understanding what they are doing it will come out as very easy to identify and scrutinize AI slop. I wholeheartedly think that AI art or anything AI generated for that matter should not be treated as finished products of any measure, they can be fantastic as inspirational material, or to quickly puke out hundreds of concepts and designs to reiterate upon ... but to sit down after "working with midjourney" for a few hours should not be eligible for any awards. Sure, if someone sits down and makes you a product that you as a customer are happy with, with the full knowledge that it was made with AI, give the dude some money for his time invested but do not treat it like an equal to actual art that requires skill, talent, knowledge and experience. AI Art is a tool, yes ... sure ... but not all tools are equal. The hypocrisy is astonishing ... guy wants to get his AI Piece copyrighted and to have the same right as genuine artists but fails to see that no genuine artist gets any form of copyright protection from AI copying their work :wheeze: Side Rant: Pay the actual artists the Dataset was trained on royalties you greedy fucking corpo cunts.
