I am the Group IT Director for a mid sized company and sit on the Exec. I recently wrote an AI White Paper for them and then the Board. The conclusion was AI in our industry was overhyped and under -delivering. I and my team could find no concrete evidence of ROI. In addition there are a whole hog of hidden risks some of which are eluded to here. The thing that struck me about the exercise is the other members of the Exec. Team, who had zero expertise in IT, were suddenly experts in and evangelists for AI. Good luck to all that are suffering as a consequence of this nonsense. You may be down, but you are not out!
