I spend more money on art commissions than anyone I know and yet I still appreciate AI image generation a lot.
At the moment you can most often tell what is AI and what is not if you've seen enough AI generated stuff.
Still, I have a huge custom OC painting on my wall which I paid a lot of money for and maybe I could get a similar AI one, but I would never hang it on the wall.
I love AI art for what it is. It's great, it helps me design things and it's fun to play with, but I will never treasure it...
