I work in automation. There are a LOT of things we can't automate for a reasonable investment yet. It's not worth spending 5 trillion dollars to invent a robot plumber to go into people's houses and fix their toilet when a human plumber can overcharge you by 6000% and still be cheaper. Go into the trades, it's not that hard if you put in a bare minimum of effort. If a job involves working with your hands, it's probably not going away until long after you're dead, within reason of course.
