I actually disagree with this. There's a lot of really cool art that specifically seeks to reduce the intentionality of outcome that you describe -- art based on random numbers, found objects, or chaotic mediums. However, there is still a human making those decisions, and I think that's what's interesting about art. In other words, I think that the human intent to create and communicate is what's interesting, not a human intent to create a specific image. AI art tends to lack any interesting intent behind it. I suppose it's possible for a skilled artist to use AI art to make something interesting, in the same way that there's really interesting music that's been composed through the use of random number generation. But I think that AI art makes that difficult, because it tries to mimic designed art, so how does giving up that control make it interesting?
