When he's arguing with AI, he can interrupt it whenever he wants, he can insult it, and it can't speak back. When talking to a person, they might let him interrupt for a little bit, but they're eventually going to get tired of it and talk over him. If he insults them, they'll insult him back. Talking to ChatGPT makes him "sound" smarter than the object he's arguing against.
