What made me tune out of the AI talk was the hyper focus on the weird idea of quality, which if AI art wasn't a thing would still be a problem in art. I think a lot of people have a weird assumption on what proper art is, in a way that copy book sketches and amateur graffiti are not really art because they're not "professional" looking but that assumption completely misses the point and stinks of low confidence. That's not to poo poo on those things considered high art, I just think it misses the point and I think it's very self defeating to think like that about art and be upset about AI art. AI will be able to mimic any and all "style" one day but it will never be able to mimic soul.
