The term surveillance capitalism is so much more nefarious than it sounds. It just sounds like people being surveilled while they shop because it's cute. It should be called voyeurist capitalism. Because they're not watching you go shopping but trying to get a peak at your private self so as to better exploit it, and maybe even steal your soul.
