I am a double major in secondary math and English education, and I regularly use AI to help me in school. ChatGPT is the only reason I understand math because it explains problems step by step. It's like a personal tutor. However, I never use it for my English degree. It has no place in my English classes where I'm asked to write about my opinions and interpretations of different texts. I fully intend on making my English students write their essays in class. Homework will be reading assignments, which kids avoid doing regardless. My math students' homework will be to watch lectures that I record and to take notes on example problems. Class time will be actively doing the math right there in front of me. Math lectures are so boring. It makes so much more sense to use class time to try out the math.
