'We do not fully understand what consciousness is, or how it arises in the brain. So creating a conscious, self aware A.I is far beyond our current capabilities.' If we don't know how it arises in the brain, how are we going to know if anything we do may or may not lead to consciousness arising in A.I? Or whether A.I. might find a way to do it itself.
