I remember working with a publisher who proudly announced that they would start printing their books in China. It would cost less and the quality was supposed to improve because the Chinese were using a more advanced tech to do so. The consumer would be the one benefitting from the change I was told. Did anything change for the consumer? No, the publisher started making even more money, and the prices for the books never dropped by a dime. So excuse me if I don't believe a business person saying that lowering the production costs with AI will make goods more affordable to people. No, no, and no! It will only make people like him rich. Period.
