I mainly use AI as a... dictionary. Like a more advanced one that corrects your style of writing - not just individual words. I also use it for sifting through logs from machines, that's like search. I'm a software engineer 10 years on the job. When it comes to coding it can be good for small snippets, like 1kB of text - but that's just something it scraped from StackOverflow and regurgitated with small changes. Also some image generation for fun, but it won't generate images of things that it never saw before i.e. not in its training data. We used to have text and image search, now we have text and image generation based on the scraped internet. It's somewhat useful, but it's not groundbreaking.
