I'm a full time software developer but also a designer and artist, I love drawing and being creative and I love this channel and many other art channels who are mostly against AI art. But I can't help but feel like people don't really understand what the AI is or is doing, Yes it's not creating art out of thin air but neither are you or anyone who creates art; in order to draw a human figure from scratch/memory at a good level, hundreds and hundreds of picture and art references had to be fed into your brain and practiced on, from which you create a variation of a human figure, in other words you have to know what the correct human form looks like before you can draw one from memory, every new thing you create is a variation of something that already exists. This is the closest comparison you can make to what the AI is doing, do you give credit to every piece of reference you've ever practiced on, or pay the artists? I'm only human, maybe there's a counter to this train of thought but every argument I've seen is that the AI is trained with existing art therefore the artists have to be paid, but every human artist is trained with existing art. The only thing this wouldn't apply to is abstract art i guess?
