I would agree that llm's have a ways to go. I suppose a potential downside for future programmers might be the reliance of llm's to produce code that they don't understand themselves. I've been around for awhile and somewhat remember the old days of learning to do math before using a calculator, or learn to know how to use an analog clock rather than relying on digital. A big one was learning to read physical road maps before gps took over and people don't know how to read a map should there gps glitch. That would be my concern for future programmers, using tools without truly understanding the process.
