ngl, this was the most disturbing and ominous video yet. Writers are striking against using AI to study scripts and learn how to write in place of humans so corporations won't have to pay writers at all. The actors guild may soon strike, which would shut down production for unionized jobs. I can only hope that the moral repercussion of how AI used in capitalism can ruin peoples lives will be a lesson everyone will learn. Then again, this could be like my hope during that pandemic that people would see that the jobs of service industry, infrastructure, education, and medical were the ones keeping everyone going. I'd hoped they realized that these jobs are the ones that should have the higher pay and set as high importance rather than crushing service industry workers with minimum wage that doesn't pay for living expenses, and saying those aren't "real jobs" when those jobs were the ones that made sure you could keep living. It didn't happen. Humanity didn't learn its lesson. People still crap on the same jobs and the "heroes" who work them, because old mindsets are incredibly hard to break. People with high paying useless jobs realize this, and fight using their money and influence to keep the status quo - which never had to be the status quo in the first place. The status quo was made ages ago to benefit a few at the expense of the many. It was pushed so hard for so long in our history that it became "just the way it is." I never had to be that way. Being a restaurant employee should be a high paying job.
