I know my yelling and frustrations with computers has been because i have been part of large software projects to do with my academic career, where we had development tools that were engineered to maximally helpful. There was no other way to deal with such complexity. Consequently, i know how fantastic and smooth software interfaces CAN be if commercial players like Microsoft put proper resources into their development. And it gets more intense with increasing enshittification and i am less and less interested in using AI or tech at all. I used to think the internet was wonderful, especially as an academic, and we are losing something precious as we drown in slop.
