Human in the loop is not about speed - it is about safety. Yes, they may be slowing AI down, but just as I still want my hands on the steering wheel and feet on the brakes of my self-driving car - AI is still not to be 100% trusted with important work. Tedious, low value, unimportant, mundane, repetitive tasks? Sure - let the AI do that boring shit.
