I can't describe how much anger I feel towards AI "artists" and just how vile they act towards the art community. I'm sure a huge chunk of them are trolls but the fucking EGO on them just makes my blood boil. I remember a time when these AI tools didn't seem at all that bad... when text generators like AI Dungeon would lead to genuinely hilarious content for people to make videos around, and image generation tools were mostly just relegated to making shitpost material. If these programs actually acted as tools for artists and helped them do things like color in entire comic pages, generate lighting reference, scale up images, or unwrap 3D objects, I'm sure we'd be all for it! Hell, if they did the right thing and trained these AI programs off of copyright-free images like the AI for Music Generation does, or if they commissioned artists to provide work for their models to train off of, then it probably wouldn't be as big of a deal... sure, there'd still be a risk of it replacing human artists but at least it won't be as big of a problem as it is now.
