Well, I don't think believing in the simulation theory is the same that believing in any other religion. Because all religions in general assume that there's a benevolent God taking care of us, while in the simulation theory we can't be sure what the real intention of the Creator is...If, we are living in a simulation run by a 4 yr old alien i doubt we are capable of changing any of the rules (coding), we could potentially create a bug to the system with AI that will probably increase the malfunction lol just doing our best... I've never seen a video character changing the video game rules...So, immortality doesn't look like an attractive option to me...
