30 years ago I went to see the movie Roger & Me. In the movie, this guy Michael Moore said that if we sent the auto jobs to Mexico, that would be the end of his home town, Flint, Michigan. Nobody wanted to hear the message, It was too negative. Just some snarky liberal standing in the way of progress. Of course he was spot-on, and the same thing will happen nationwide with sophisticated automation. But there's a flaw. When the jobs are gone, who's going to buy the stuff the machines produce?
