I once heard GML ("generative machine-learning"; I _hate_ calling it "AI" when it's not actually intelligent) image-generators described as "how to make art for people who don't like making art" and that seems pretty spot-on. You're absolutely right about the barrier to entry being much lower than they claim: hell, you could just steal pencils from Ikea or any arts event, and get your paper from your school's copy room.
Once you realize that what people _really_ don't want to invest is time and effort, then you realize they're just lazy and want to steal cred. Screw those people. Please keep making poisoned art to destroy the training sets; people like me who run Linux don't (yet) have access to Nightshade so we can't do it and are grateful somebody else can.
