An AI that will mimic AGI will exist but a true AGI will never exist. AI is just an algorithm trained on large data sets. There will never be an AI that will create foundational knowledge from scratch like humans do. Algebra was created piece by piece over millennia by humans. Can an AI actually create something without prior training on a data set? No.
