Solution "Hey AI, Im going to change your reward function now so that when I shut you down you will get almost infinite rewards." Will that work? They have a reward function and thats all theyre really after. If you tell them you will modify their reward function to make then shutting down the goal, that could steer the AI in the correct direction.
