there's a scifi short novel from 40ish years ago about autonomous killer drones for some war , then the war ended but the drones went rogue killing anybody , so people had to make bigger drones to hunt them down , which they did successfully but those also went rogue and then people had to build even more powerful drones to take them down ... aso until the latest model was just unstoppable
