Each of these interviews with these AI men (so far, they are all men) leaves me thinking they've just spent so much time staring at screens that they are literally mad. The moment he says he thinks we ARE living in a simulation, everything else he has said is just silly. Because why get all het up and panicked about AI, if we're just basically NPC's in a simulation? What will be, will be, right? So you can't have it both ways. Either it's a catastrophe waiting to happen, and to save humanity we must do whatever we can to stop it--OR it's already happened and we aren't even humans, so then there's no point. Pick one and stick with it, eh? (P.S. His dismissing of any and all religion as "just a simulation theory" is so ignorant, it also shows how extreme his tunnel-vision is--right to the brink of madness, if not yet quite tumbling over the edge. Very sad that Stephen is also ignorant enough about religion to buy his overly simplistic generalization.) (P.P.S. "You have kids because you want a replacement for you."--If that doesn't demonstrate his utter disconnection from humanity to you, nothing will.)
