The genie is out of the bottle already. Does OpenAI have some secret sauce? Not really. Others will be able to copy what they do and do it better. If they stop training models for 6 month, don't think for a second that EVERYONE will stop. There will be many that speed up with more funding etc. Nvida will not stop making hardware that is aimed at training AI. Alibaba will not shot down there AI labs. We have let the genie out already so... yeah. Enjoy the ride guys and girls.
