AI and discrimination is a big topic in HR now, because this very issue is a concern. If something does indeed affect a protcted group, even if unintentionally, its illegal. The fact that was very odd to me is that it also takes into account past rejections, which no employer would never be able to do. So the software then creates a loop of people it keeps rejecting due to bias, and then that morphs into them being a "bad applicant"
