4:56 interesting, so you're using AI instead of looking at youtube videos to learn JS.
You know, tutorials created by real people with a lot of effort... Or articles written by real people with a great deal of effort in order to help others learn.
And of course, there's no problem with this. But then why is there a problem when someone uses AI to generate images, video or music instead of going to real people for it? To me it sounds like a double standard.
Look, I can say the same thing: In order for me to write an article I had to spend thousands of hours to learn and develop my skills. Not only my programming skills but also my writing skills. And now you're using AI to learn JS, and that AI just scraped all of my work and the work of many many others to get its data. I'm not only talking about proper articles, but also forum posts, hundreds of answered questions, thousands of discussions and so on.
So you see how it's a double standard? I've been writing software for almost 20 years now, and in 2025 I lost my job. Not directly because of AI because no AI can replace the work that I did. But indirectly AI had a "hand" in it. I had to quit because of burnout, and that burnout was partly fueled by an AI craze that made "bosses" demand more and more from humans, but without proper pay. So yeah...
Anyway I still don't have much against AI. It is what it is, I see it just like a tool. Like when the lathe was invented. It was something new, people lost their jobs, demand increased, but it did fuel the industrial revolution as it all started with the lathe.
Edit:
Don't rely too much on what chatgpt hallucinates. Especially for the past few months it's been hallucinating more and more. I tried it for coding out of curiosity and it made me laugh multiple times.
For coding use Claude, it's still not good but at least it doesn't hallucinate as much.
And if you want a search engine, use Perplexica with SearXNG locally. It's really good because it provides citations and links, and it's quite fast if you have a decent gpu on your computer. You said it's 10 years old but it still might have a good enough gpu for this. Setup is really easy too, there's a docker image with both Perplexica and SearXNG included.
