Well the AI isn't the problem in the first place, the AI builds up on an base of informations that mostly already existed before the AI did.
For example if we take a medical AI and feed it with decisions of doctors, the AI is doing everything great but when a black patient has other "stats" than a white person, this is because the doctors have threated both unequally, so maybe is a look at the AI a look at the doctors
