No one really talks about the real reason behind self driving cars and trucks.
It's to get rid of human drivers all together in commercial driving roles.
So think about Lyft and Uber or driving goods in semi tractor trailers across the country.
You're talking about eliminating billions of dollars in costs for drivers. Lyft and Uber do not give a shit about their drivers. They care about profits for the shareholders.
As soon as they can eliminate the drivers, they will.
