The macro problem is that money changes hands because of people. These automated companies will destroy their own profits as they displace workers. Because their own employees were the one buying the new roof on the house, or the mcdonalds on the way home from work. And when all of those people no longer have income, they can't afford to get their plumbing fixed. And when the plumber doesn't get work either, he can't afford to buy the product from the automated company. So it stops the money from changing hands. When that happens, the money is not coming in as fast, the only answer is, automate more and lay off more people. Companies don't look past the next quarter. They don't look at the big picture. The competitive nature of capitalism which brought us all this great technology is not equipped to deal with what some would call a race to the bottom.
